The maximum session duration is 30 days.
This guide explains the why the limit exists and recommended best practices for managing session length.
Why session duration matters
Reliability and accuracy
- A defined timeframe ensures the assessment reflects a consistent snapshot of candidates’ abilities.
- Limiting the duration reduces the influence of external factors or additional learning that could occur over a longer period.
User experience
- Results are only accessible to candidates at the end of the session. It is important to limit the delay between the assessment and the results review.
Recommended best practices
While a session can remain open for up to 30 days, we do not recommend keeping it open for the full period. To ensure the best candidate experience and data quality:
- Default duration: Keep sessions open for up to 2 weeks.
- Extension if needed: If some participants haven’t completed the assessment, extend the session by 1 additional week.
- This must be done before the original deadline, as when as session has ended, it cannot be reopened.
- Automatic notifications: Invited candidates who haven’t completed the assessment will receive an automatic reminder when the session is extended.
- This serves as a helpful nudge to complete the assessment on time.
