This guide explains the different candidate session statuses and how to interpret them. Moderators can use these statuses to monitor progress, identify issues, and follow up with participants as needed.
You can view candidate statuses by clicking on any session in your dashboard.
Candidate statuses
| Status | Definition | Moderator action / notes |
|---|---|---|
| Invited | Candidate has been added to the session but has not created an account. | Ensure the candidate received the invitation email. |
| Not started | Candidate has created an account but has not begun the assessment. | Remind candidates to start the session before the deadline. |
| Doing | Candidate is currently taking the assessment. | No action needed unless technical issues arise. |
| Partial completion | Candidate submitted less than 95 questions or quit the assessment within 20 minutes of the end time. | No action needed as candidates will receive their results and certificates normally. |
| Abandoned | Candidate submitted less than 95 questions and quit more than 20 minutes before the end. Certificate will not be issued. | Moderators may want to re-invite candidates to another session. |
| Certificate cancelled | The certificate is cancelled due to failure to comply with expected behavior during the assessment (e.g., leaving the page multiple times, taking screenshots, attempting to copy and paste, etc.). | Candidates still have access to their results. Follow up if necessary. Reinforce the message about Assessment Integrity whenever possible. |
| Completed | Candidate has answered all questions and submitted the assessment. | No action required; results are final. |
Tips for moderators
- Monitor early: Check statuses regularly to spot candidates who haven’t started or are struggling. Send reminders to candidates in “Invited” or “Not started” status before the deadline.
- Communicate clearly: Clarify the information about the session deadline and the time candidates need to complete the assessment (maximum 80 minutes)
